Achilles Tendinitis

This sports injury occurs when the Achilles tendon, the band that stretches from the calf to the heel, is damaged. The tendinitis occurs when the stress placed on the tendon is more than the tendon’s strength. Running both uphill and downhill can cause stress to the tendon. Stiff soled shoes apply a great deal of pressure to the Achilles tendon, and increases the risk that it may tear.

Rotator cuff inflammation can lead to a tearing and swelling of the rotator cuff. These tendons are often hurt when you repeatedly move your arm over your head. Pitching, lifting heavy weights, and playing tennis are ways that you can damage your rotator cuff.

How To Prevent Sports Injuries

Warming up before playing can help prevent injuries. After you are finished playing, cooling down is important. Cooling down helps get rid of waste products that are located in the muscles.
